Yes, the phased-out Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS) assessment, the fast-track route for foreign lawyers to qualify as English solicitors is discontinued and merged into the SQE. Therefore, foreign-qualified lawyers must now pass all SQE assessments to become English solicitors. You will need to ensure that you hold the correct professional title in a recognised jurisdiction list which is published by the SRA. Unlike domestic candidates, foreign-qualified lawyers are not required to complete the two years qualifying work experience. Foreign lawyers must take the same assessment as domestic candidates.

Even if you are not yet qualified as a lawyer in your home jurisdiction, you can still take the SQE assessments. But you will need to meet the SRA requirement at the point you apply for admission with the SRA.
