Until March 18 2015, candidates sitting the QLTS assessment had to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the SRA.
The Certificate of Eligibility confirmed that a candidate was entitled to practise law in their home jurisdiction, and had no criminal record, disciplinary actions or other issues related to their background.
However, from March 18, 2015, candidates no longer need to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility to sit the QLTS assessments. This requirement has been removed by the SRA so candidates seeking to take the assessments can simply contact the assessment provider and register to take the assessments.
